Blue Scholars New Album Available Now

Joe Gustav / June 1, 2011

Good things don’t necessarily come to those who wait. In fact, in the case of Blue Scholars‘ highly-anticipated Cinemetropolis, impatience has proved a virtue. Announced just over two hours ago on their Facebook and Twitter accounts, the 15-track LP is now available to the general public for stream and purchase at their bandcamp, 2 weeks ahead of its scheduled drop date of June 14.

Cinemetropolis, Geo and Sabzi’s “visual soundtrack,” has been available to supporters of their Kickstarter campaign since May 15. Now, everyone who slept or just couldn’t get to that PayPal account in time will have the opportunity to hear what we glimpsed back in March — the rock-hard drums of “Marion Sunshine,” the gully “Seijun Suzuki,” the stirring “Oskar Barnack ∞ Oscar Grant.”

As promised, still more video shorts are promised for what they described in March as “a reverse movie soundtrack” where the music guides the visuals. Blue Scholars will always be hosting Cinemetropolis release parties June 17th and 18th at Neumos with special guests. For more info go here.
