Seattle is very lucky to be one of the nine cities slated to receive the live Wax Tailor experience. JC Le Saout, aka Wax Tailor and frontman of the live performance, uses music to explore the inner-workings of the human spirit. His most recent effort, Dusty Rainbow from the Dark, is a record that was four years in the making. Saout composed the music, etched the story, the cast the album. The context is a young boy who lived in a room filled with vinyl records. One day, a great rain came and he saw what we call a rainbow for the first time. The young boy asked his mother what the colored thing in the sky was. Instead of giving the child the scientific answer, she explained, “the rainbow is a pathway from dark to light and from light to dark. It’s the pathway to your imagination. If you open your mind, you’ll find your dusty rainbow from the dark.”

The balance of the record is a narrated, moody musical of the boy’s journey through the records and the all of the twists and turns on the pathway through the Dusty Rainbow from the Dark.

The music canvas is rich. Hip-hop is the foundation, and childlike wonder is developed with the aid of strings, brass, guest vocalists galore featuring Aloe Blacc, Shana Halligan (from Bitter:Sweet), Jennifer Charles (from Dan The Automator’s Lovage project), Charlotte Savary, Mattic and many more.

Wax Tailor has completely revamped his live show in honor of this record. Working with a team of twenty directors, he crafted a visual world to match the album’s story line, and will take to the stage alongside four musicians (cello, violin, flute & guitar), a female vocalist and an MC.

French hypnotic producer Wax-taylor will be visiting Seattle, WA on October 6, 2012 in promotion of Dusty Rainbow from the Dark (out now).
