Phantogram has the lure of ambient-electronic and the fire of electro-dance-pop. Sarah Barthol has her hands on keyboards, beat machines, programmers, loop stations, she sings, dances, and she’s gorgeous. Josh Carter infuses the electro-pop with some ethereal rock on the guitar, and his vocals add the masculine touch that make this duo’s sound appealing to a broad range of listeners. At Sasquatch! 2010, it was an awe-inspiring thing to see thousands of people crowd into the field of the Yeti stage, being drawn in by Phantogram’s performance, and give in to their urges of unabashed dancing.
