Trio The Life and Times are nearing the last of their stops along their “No One Loves You” tour, and will finally arrive in Seattle this Saturday for their date at Barboza. The shoegaze band, in fact, has many adoring fans that do love their work whole-heartedly.  Since 2002, the Kansas City-based rockers have been creating music together, ever since Allen Epley’s former band Shiner disbanded. Epley hooked up with drummer Mike Myers and bassist/guitarist John “Houdini” Meredith and shortly after released their debut EP The Flat End of The Earth.

Over the past decade however, the band has put out many other releases, and continued with a transforming lineup. Epley now plays with Eric Abert on bass and Chris Metcalf on drums. The Life and Times’ latest album, No One Loves You Like I Do was released just this past January, and they’ve been touring in its promotion heavily ever since. The album features songs with titles such as “Day I,” “Day II,” “Day III” and so on. Though The Life and Times have experienced many changes and evolutions in their existence as a band, their live energy has never faltered and No One Loves You Like I Do continues to bring intriguing rock to the ears.

Austin band Ume will be opening the show this Saturday. Their heavy pop fuses together the best parts of multiple genres such as punk, stoner, shoegaze and alt rock for a transcending live experience. Front woman Lauren Larson has been compared to St. Vincent as a vocalist who can also do her own fair shredding on the guitar; to say her magnetic talents are sexy on stage would be an understatement. Coming off of their 2011 release Phantoms, Ume will definitely bring a punch to the stage at the beginning of the night, so make sure you get to Barboza early in order to not miss this opener!
