Seth Haley has been DJing and producing under a multitude of aliases for the better part of a decade but it wasn’t until he started experimenting with the bottom-heavy, foggy and sensual sounds of synth-wave that Com Truise was born. He says his music is “mid-fi synth-wave” or “slow-motion funk” and it’s true. His songs, steeped in personas of the 80’s, make a textural groove that grab hold of you, limber up your limbs and suck you into his world of 0′s and 1′s – imagine if the world of Tron was on heavy barbiturates.

Please don’t think this music will just get lost in the ‘re-hashing the 80’s bin’ though. Yes, there’s a lot of synth and yes this music would seemingly fit well in any soundtrack to those cybernetic, mind melting 80’s visions of future dystopia but there’s a certain soul and warmth behind these songs that could easily transport you to a foggy mountaintop sunrise in paradise. It seems that Com Truise has filtered the best parts of late 70’s funk and 80’s synth-wave through to his mixers and blended together what we always wish to find when listening to those ‘vintage’ albums we find in used bins.

After releasing two full-lengths and a re-issue of his first EP on Ghostly International, Com Truise’s trajectory is steadily on the incline without seeming to slow down anytime soon.

Before Com Truise takes the stage get treated to the sunny disco-esque dance beats of L.A.’s Poolside. With only one album under their belt they’ve garnered a pretty buzz-worthy track record that includes shows with The Juan Mclean and Twin Shadow among others and remixes for the likes of Matthew Dear and The Rapture.

To open out the night, Brazilian electro party rockers and the apples of Diplo’s eye, Bonde Do Role will get you amped up and dance you into frenzy for the rest of the evening.
