Radical trio Bass Drum of Death will be heading a thrashy garage night with Aussie DZ Deathrays and Portland’s Ghost Animal in support at Mississippi Studios in Portland, Oregon on June 30th.

Coming from the state that Mississippi Avenue is named for, Bass Drum of Death is returning with a massive force to Portland. Get ready for the turbulent poundings of Colin Sneed’s drums and the core-wrenching guitar riffs and yowls of John Barrett. It’s been a little over a year since their last album release, GB City, and rumor has it they’ll have some new jams and records. Brace yourself for your face to rock off and preview Bass Drum of Death below on “Get Found” and “Nerve Jamming.”
Touring with Bass Drum are the DZ Deathrays, all the way from Brisbane, Australia. This two-piece began playing punk and thrash at house shows and has successfully infused some heavy dance beats into their sound more recently. Something about them is reminiscent of certain Death From Above 1979 cuts that have MSTRKRFT flare. Get a grip of their edge from their single, “Dollar Chills” below.
Be sure to get to the Studios early to catch Portland’s own lo-fi garage rock duo, Ghost Animal. Check out the dreamy, fuzzed out rock vibe of these childhood friends on “Through Your Eyes.”
