Watch: Flying Lotus’ Short Film “Until The Quiet Comes”

Select music from Flying Lotus‘ forthcoming full-length titled Until The Quiet Comes is featured in a short film of the same name.

Director Kahlil Joseph crafts an urban snapshot that juxtaposes joy and brutality; serenity and suffering. Intermittent images of budding friendships and violence build up to a swooning sequence: a man apparently shot dead rises in a ritual-like dance from beyond the grave. All of this, set to the music of Flying Lotus, whose rhythmic, atmospheric music is simultaneously intriguing and unsettling.

The songs included in the video are “See Thru To U”, “Hunger” and “Getting There”, which feature the soulful touch of Erykah Badu in the first and Niki Randa in the latter two tracks.
