Video: Wild Beasts – “Albatross”

This is a video that I meant to post six weeks ago, but it got lost in the black hole known as my inbox.

Wild Beasts released Smother on May 9th. “Albatross” is a keen look into the darkness and duplicity that this album contains.  There are a lot of things here that might remind one of Black Swan: the stark contrast between darkness and light; the principal character is a ballet dancer; she is doing things by the controlling powers of others; she longs to be free. Even if this video rings “kitsch,” it’s still a beautifully produced, gorgeous story.  Have a look:
