Grammy and Juno award winner Sarah McLachlan exudes emotion with her often ethereal voice and evocative lyrics on her latest album release Laws of Illusion. Dubbed a breakup album from former husband Ashwin Sood, Laws of Illusion traces her journey through the divorce and into a newly rejuvenated and passionate form of herself. Her post-divorce life is purported to be full of happiness, freedom, expression and joy with the inevitable bouts of emotion. Says McLachlan about the breakup from her first relationship after Sood, “I have a full life. I have two amazing kids, I have great friends, great family. And right now, that’s plenty for me to manage. A new relationship just seems like way too much work…right now.”
Sarah’s innate ability to draw you near brings with it an amazing sense of passion and liberation from the hum-drum of daily life. You can expect to find yourself rigid with excitement yet feeling relaxed with “a smile stretched from ear to ear” as you are drawn in to her rhythms and tunes together with the ever-beautiful Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
