Vacant Stares Set VHS Dreams Free with “Impulse Control”

Colette Pomerleau / December 6, 2018

Portland, Oregon-based Vacant Stares just released a video for their latest single, “Impulse Control”, one full of VHS dreamscapes, emotive bodywork, mysterious personas, with an intimidating introduction. The song is about personal failures, misplaced trust and emotional disappointment, a sneak peak at what’s to come with their forthcoming album in 2019.

The band shares their thought process behind the single:
“Impulse Control is our attempt to enflesh a dream state that is dourly beautiful, inversely cloying the senses and unsettling the subconscious.”
