Toro y Moi is the bedroom project of producer Chaz Bundick, whose music has progressively taken many turns stylistically throughout the years, but eventually led him to be identified under the chillwave movement. Toro y Moi has delivered a handful of releases including LPs, EPs, remixes and demos, but now Bundick is pulling from the vault to offer up an album created solely of previous unreleased songs that prefaced his later releases. The collection shows off some short and sweet lo-fi Toro y Moi songs without polish that give us a glimpse of his early process. The album, June 2009, will be released via a vinyl archival box set on April 24th, 2012 and below you can download “Dead Pontoon” from the album for free.
