Are you still on a folked-out high from Pickathon but you weren’t able to make it Doe Bay this weekend? The Sightseer show down at Columbia City Theater may just satiate your alt-country cravings.

With the 2012 release of their debut album, What Tomorrow Brings, Sightseer have been drawing comparisons to everyone from Neko Case to a more melodic, stronger incarnation of the Cowboy Junkies – gracefully fitting in to the ever expanding roots-music movement that continues to sweep over the Northwest.

Though their songs are heavy on loss, remorse and nostalgia, they play out these themes with a certain rollicking professionalism that seems to say everything can be solved with whiskey. Now who can’t raise their rocks glass to that?

Crown Hill will be opening up the night in celebration of their debut, self titled release. Forming in 2006, Crown Hill have more than enough mileage under their musical belts to promise a solid show. With their self proclaimed “urban folk songs”, tight hooks and roots-influenced style, they should be just the right kind of igniter to get this whiskey fueled night blazing.
