After work, head over to The Triple Door for some free entertainment from the talented local trumpeter Owuor Arunga. Originally hailing from Kisumu Kenya, Arunga took his passion for music to New School University where he graduated and begun playing with beacons in the jazz music community. Some of the artist he’s played amongst or apprenticed with include Charlie Persip, Candido Camero, Billy Bang, The Cadillacs , Robert Glasper, Louis Reyes Rivera, Olu Dara, Jimmy Owens, & Chico Freeman. In Seattle you might recognize Arunga for his work as the go-to trumpeter for some of the most prized local hip hop; both Macklemore and The Physics utilize the empowering musician for their musical backdrops. Come check out this accomplished musician while he holds the spotlight tonight, at the Musicquarium at The Triple Door!
