With a successful career that has spanned more than two decades and several continents it is surprising that Italian singer songwriter Jovanotti‘s current tour marks his inaugural live performance on American soil. The Tuscan musician has had a brilliant career in Europe and around the world. Jovanotti got his start in the late Eighties as a DJ. Then, with the influence of international sounds, transitioned to world beat music in the Nineties. As his musical chops evolved Jovanotti tackled more political, philosophical, and religious themes in his songwriting.

Even if you haven’t heard of Jovanotti you have probably heard of a few artists he has collaborated with. Artists like Ben Harper, Sergio Mendes, and Bono have all joined forces with Jovanotti at one time or another to create catchy groovy tunes that are synonymous with Jovanotti’s style. While his lyrics are in Italian there is no mistaking the emotion and verve that is woven into Jovanotti’s live performance. This is one evening at Neptune that will easily earn the description of epic.
