For those of you looking for something to rock out to tonight, head on down to the Comet and enjoy performances by a slew of post-rock bands. Blending complex guitar arrangements, soulful vocal sounds, and driving drum beats, Seattle three-piece Badwater Fire Company headline the evening’s entertainment. Founded by Shane Rossmiller, the group builds off each member’s skillful precision to craft a sound which draws on a variety of influences, from prog-rock to grunge. As Badwater Fire Company’s vocalist, Rossmiller evokes the soulful wailing of Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell while the band’s spooky instrumentals recall the paranoid how of the Mars Volta. Also performing this evening are self-professed “taco prog” quintet Twin Suns and Seattle-based groups Steradian and Clouds Over Moscow.
