Tonight In Seattle (9/09): The Tallest Man On Earth, Chelsea Wolfe, Crypts and more
Posted by Mark NaborczykIt’s Sunday. Fight back against that alarm clock call of Monday morning with any of these great shows that are taking over tonight in Seattle.
The Tallest Man On Earth, Strand of Oaks @ The Moore Theatre | $22.50adv | 7pm | All ages
Music is a hushed, intricate landscape for Kristian Matsson, known on stage and record as The Tallest Man On Earth. He’ll envelop you in calm with his musical styling that has been compared to Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. Few musicians are able to make large venues seem like a living room show and that’s precisely what’s going to happen to the Moore this evening.
Chelsea Wolfe, Crypts, Stickers @ Barboza | $10adv | 8pm | 21+
Chelsea Wolfe, with her hauntingly lush and brooding compositions, is headlining a stellar night of dark tones at Barboza tonight. Celebrating their album release, Crypts will bring their abrasive, apocalyptic industrial dance-rock and the always entertaining saxophone punk of Stickers will open up the night.
Nite Jewel, Golden Gardens, Terabytes and the Battery Eaters @ The Crocodile | 9/9 | 8 pm | $10 (Get Tickets) | All-Ages
There’s a great preview of this show on our blog here.
Defeater, Cowardice, A Hope Not Forgotten, To The Wind @ The Vera Project | 9/9 | 7 pm | $10 adv/$12 dos | All-Ages

Wild Nothing, DIIV, Seapony @ Neumos | 9/9 | 8 pm | $15 Advance (Get Tickets) | All-Ages

Racer Sessions @ Café Racer | Free | 8pm | 21+
The Racer Sessions at Café Racer are an almost holy experience for those who go religiously every Sunday. You have some of the best musicians both from Seattle and abroad using this night as a blank canvas. It’s largely improvisational and you’ll witness some of the best, mind-bending jazz this city has seen.
Hazel @ The Tractor | $12 | 7pm | 21+
Do you wish you could relive Sub Pop’s reign of the early 90’s when the NW was finding it’s voice and footing in musical history? Well lucky for you then that Hazel is having a reunion show at the Tractor tonight!
