Grizzly Bear, Lower Dens @ Paramount | $31.25 | 8pm | All ages
Grizzly Bear is taking over the Paramount tonight in Seattle in support of their freshly released album, Shields! Judging by past shows, their recorded material takes on new lushly dense forms that envelop and hypnotize.
Be sure to show up early because opening the night is the entrancing Lower Dens from Baltimore. We covered them last time they were in town here.

Star Anna @ The Triple Door | $17.50 | 8pm | All ages
Star Anna is quickly rising as one of Seattle’s leading women in the alt country and roots movement. Let her sweeping melodies carry you away tonight at the Triple Door.

Walking Papers, A Leaf @ Barboza | $8 | 7pm | 21+
There’s been a buzz about Seattle concerning Walking Papers. Words like super-group and Seattle legends get thrown around when you read any press about them and they’re all completely valid. Between Jeff Angell (Missionary Position, Post Stardom Depression) and Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Skin Yard, Mad Season) Walking Papers was born playing a heavy groove focused blues rock. Quickly thereafter Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses) and Benjamin Anderson joined on bass and keyboards with Mike McCready (Pearl Jam, Mad Season) making guest appearances both in the studio and live setting.
Come on down to Barboza and see this great lineup play a set of blisteringly loud blues that’ll keep you shaking all night in one of Seattle’s smallest venues.
