Ladytron is a band that has had a huge influence on the last decade of electronic music.  Fans of the band would argue that Ladytron in fact wrote the last ten years of the book of electronic music.  The Liverpool quartet has always had a unique sound of their own, drawing influences from glam, disco, and new wave to create their own electro-pop sound.  In their first U.S. tour in 2003, the band sold out every singel show, and added a bass guitarist and drummer to their already stellar line up.  The addition of the new members only enhanced the band’s sound, drawing in even more fans.  Ladytron’s catchy electro-pop riffs, backed by bass and drums are sure to create a massive dance party at the Showbox at the Market tonight, along with Depressed Buttons, Geographer, Mad Decent, and SONOIO.

Originally going to take place on October 2nd, the OMD show has been moved up to tonight.  OMD, also known as Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, is an electronic/pop band from Liverpool.  First debuting in 1978, the duo of Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys set out to create intelligent pop as a side project.  Fortunately, that is exactly what they have managed to create, combining catchy electroic melodies and insatiable dance beats.  OMD first became a household name with the release of Architecture and Morality, which featured the singles such as “Joan of Arc,” Maid of Orleans,” and “Souvenir.”  After a reunion tour in 2007, Humphreys and McCluskey decided it was time to revive OMD, and set out playing a collection of shows in which they played Architecture and Morality in its entirety, as well as adding some brilliant stage effects.  Be sure to catch OMD at the Showbox SoDo, along with opening act Washington.
