theZim & Arock w/ Citizens for Boysenberry Jam @ Urban Coffee Lounge
10/23 7pm ALL AGES & FREE!!!

Seattle’s dynamic duo, theZim & Arock, are heading to the Eastside and they’re bringing some specials guests with them. Tonight’s show will be a little different than those of the past (see previous coverage here). Arock will be rocking a hand drum and Kent Halvorsen will be joining on keys. Energetic and just-the-right length tunes keep theZim & Arock’s sets moving at a swift pace and it won’t be long before you find yourself tapping your foot over bobbing your head right along with these boys. The addition of keys will add some nice flavor to this savory mix.

Citizens for Boysenberry Jam (CBJ) are opening for theZim & Arock tonight and it will be a gem of a treat, I promise! Comprised of Kent Halvorsen and Tyler Vega, CBJ, are playing together again after a four years. They will be playing a set of Simon and Garfunkel covers that are sure to bring you back to a bygone day where folk music was king, vocal harmonies were everywhere and powerful lyrics made one stop to think.
Surrealized, Roxbury Pound, and DJ White Chocolate @ Seamonster Lounge
10/23 9pm FREE!!!

Maybe you aren’t in a folksy mood today? Don’t want to drive to the Eastside? Want something to do later in the evening? Fine, fine, SSG has you covered. Perhaps you will prefer the more bass-driven beats of Surrealized. A glorious mish-mash of electronica, indie, rock, and most points in between, Surrealized is heading to Wallingford tonight along with Roxbury Pound. Kimo Muraki’s smooth vocals along with the group’s synth-pop/electronica sound gives me the urge to move. Also not to be overlooked, Roxbury Pound, is a newly formed group who proclaim “One mission unites us all- deliver the funky goods to the asses of the masses.” AMEN! I’m excited to catch this funk-groove lovin’ group for the first time to see if they really can deliver.
Put on your dancing galoshes and get your booties over to the Seamonster!
