Hopeless Jack and the Handsome Devil, Holy Children, Alabama Black Snake @ Kelly’s Olympian | 5/11 | 8:30 PM | $7 | 21+

Head out to Kelly’s Olympian this Friday to get your screams and applause onto Hopeless Jack and the Handsome Devil’s live recording. The boys are taking a break from the constant road life to record their second release, and it’s only fitting that they’re holding the show where they’ll have a home-crowd advantage. Guest list signees will receive a discount once the album is complete. Over the past year HJ&HD have been spreading their down-and-dirty blues across the nation, and each of their shows here in town have been thick with a sort of home-coming atmosphere. The last time they played Kelly’s O, the venue claimed it was its second best attended show ever. This Friday could break records…

They’ll be joined by Holy Children and Alabama Black Snake. ABS will kicking things off with their heavy, Sabbathistic southern drunk-rock. Barflymag.com just voted them “the Best Band for a One Night Stand”, so bring your rubbers. Holy Children will provide the perfect lead-in to Hopeless Jack, keeping things moving with a whiskey-infused, boot stomping blues. All in all, the night promises dancing. Lots of dancing.
