The Mynabirds – “Let The Record Go”

A pretty little song in a video – full of girls dressed like we still lived in the olden days – that takes an unexpected turn. That’s Mynabirds’ latest “Let The Record Go” that comes out along with the announcement of a 3-month tour. The Seattle date is July 15th at the Sunset Tavern.
Mynabirds’ frontwoman Laura Burhenn who, after the departure from Georgie James, started writing new material for what would become her debut with the new band What We Lose In The Fire We Gain In The Flood (Saddle Creek). “Let The Record Go” has a catchy melody and her husky Fiona Apple-like vocals are engaging enough to instigate curiosity about the rest of the album. It sounds unpretentious and fun and they were spot on when they came up with the concept for a video that would translate those ideas.
