“I See You (Black People)” – Vado
Harlem MC Vado crafts an anthem for the rap history books and director Jonah Schwartz attaches the vintage lens for emotional affect. V passes the true MC test by holding down the track’s simple, delicate sample loop with a nearly a cappella performance that finds the fleeting balance between hardcore and heartfelt. F-ck a month — this is Black History Lifetime. (Get Vado’s free mixtape, Slime Flu 2, here.)

Fellow Kung-Fu aficionado Raekwon lends bars on “No Apologies,” a straight forward digging-in-the-crates production by Oh No.
