Seattle-based Tea Cozies are back at it again with their latest release Bang Up, a five song EP due out October 30. The quartet features guitars, bass, drums and keys that complement their Brit-rock styling. Bang Up has the same blending of rock and pop that the group is so well-known for and what made their debut album, Hot Probs, gain national status. The EP will feature new songs and a revamped older one , “Cosmic Osmo” which was originally heard on their Dead Man’s Sister single that came out in 2011.
The first single off Bang Up is the organ-driven “Muchos Dracula” which puts the listener into the right mind-set for Halloween and blood-sucking vampires, especially the howling towards the end. The single has the perfect amount of pop without sounding like 80′s British sensation Bananarama and enough rock to get heads bobbing and feet tapping. Tea Cozies have the single streaming for a limited time on their Soundcloud and website, check it out:
The Bang UP EP release party will be in conjunction with Columbia City Theater’s A Cascadian All Hallows Eve party on October 27 with Kithkin, Tea Cozies, Erik Blood, and Charms. Tickets are $7 advance, $10 day of the show. The show is 21+ and costumes are encouraged!
