On May 29th, STG will continue its streak of brilliant Seattle comedy shows (Patton Oswalt, Joe Rogan, Sarah Silverman, Lewis Black, and that’s just in the months of April and May) with Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson. A veteran of stand-up comedy, Ferguson began by performing for the drunken audiences of his first punk rock band, The Bastards From Hell (fronted by the brilliant and sallow Peter Capaldi, who made a vulgar splash in one of the best movies of 2009, In the Loop). He would take the stage while the band set up and practice his comedy and character work in front some of the world’s toughest audiences. That was just in the early ’80s.
Appearances at the often grueling Edinburgh Festival Fringe gained Ferguson popularity and various spots on television shows and theatres around the UK. Eventually he left for Hollywood and became known as the cranky Scottish boss on The Drew Carey Show. After that, he inherited The Late Late Show on CBS from Craig Kilborn, making him the most tattooed late night talk show host.
All the while, Craig Ferguson has worked on and maintained a stand-up act, one that we at SSG are giving away a pair of tickets to. For your chance to win tickets to Craig Ferguson’s show at The Moore, e-mail email@example.com with the phrase “Craig Ferguson at The Moore 5/29” in the subject line!
