Snoop Dogg is planning to release a smokable song book titled “Rolling Words.”
The book is a promotional item for his rolling papers aptly named, Snoop Dogg’s Kingsize Slim Rolling Papers. The papers were created by the San Francisco ad agency Pereira & O’Dell.
The book features lyrics from Snoop’s actual songbooks, with corrections, changes, and details how they are written in his own personal songbooks. The difference between his songbooks and the one that you will be able to buy is that you can rip out the pages and smoke them, after filling them with your favorite smokable substance.
The book is designed for maximum ease in smokability. The words on the pages on written on non-toxic ink, and the pages are perforated for easy access. The cover, spine, lining, and backing are made from hemp seed paper. The spine also features a striker for matches so one can easily light up the pages. Matches are apparently not included.
When asked about the unusual product Nick Adler, strategic brand director for Stampede Management said, “We’d been working with Pereira & O’Dell on the ‘Obrigado’ song and video with Snoop Dogg and Marcel D2 to debut Jawbone’s Jambox in Brazil when they came to us with the idea for Rolling Words.” He also added, “Honestly, we were kind of blown away. It’s a fantastic brand extension for us, and totally captures the vibe and spirit of Snoop and our platform. We’re excited about the project and eager to see where it takes us.”
The book is currently only available for elite distribution, but a limited edition version is being considered for release online. Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival goers will be the first to get a chance at Snoop’s new rolling papers. They will be plastered in various areas in the festival’s grounds and will have a detachable papers for the taking.
