“Smells Like Teen Spirit” the Sitcom?
Posted by Liana RobertshawCreators of the CBS sitccom “The Big Band Theory” have sold a sitcom titled “Smells Like Teen Spirit”.
The sitcom takes its title from the smash song of the same name that broke Nirvana to the mainstream and helped shape music for the next generation.
It remains to be seen whether the sitcom will launch with the title with media critics noting that plenty of sitcoms start production under a working name, and even launch with a name change following rather quickly. Who remembers “These Friends of Mine” or “Friends Like Us”? The shows would find a wide audience later as “Ellen” and “Friends”.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The multicamera comedy revolves around an 18-year-old budding entrepreneur who forgoes Harvard and instead opts to launch a multibillion-dollar Internet company from his garage with the assistance of his sister, best friend and his 1990s indie-rock parents.”
