One of the driving forces behind Seattle’s all-ages shows boom is The Vera Project and on May 2 you can Give Big to them. The arts and music center hosts all-ages shows that brings big acts including Titus Andronicus, Lemolo, Foxy Shazam, and many others to Seattle youth. The Vera Project has played an integral part in encouraging young adults to gain employable skills like marketing, silkscreening, and promotion for not only concerts but art shows too. The music and arts center relies heavily on donations and volunteers throughout the year and only has a handful of full-time employees so every dollar that gets donated helps them out immensely.

Give Big is an annual pledge drive that is hosted by The Seattle Foundation. For one day only, May 2, anyone can donate whatever amount they chose to various non-profits. On top of the donated amount by pledges the various non-profits also get a certain prorated percentage via a small pool that is funded by Give Big sponsors like Microsoft, Seattle Sounders, JP Morgan & Chase and many others. In other words, the more you donate to The Vera Project and other non-profits on only May 2 the more they will get. There will also be a few Golden Tickets throughout the day on May 2, which is where random donors get a boost of an extra $1000 added on to their pledge. Golden Tickets donors will also get a chance to win a $100 Starbucks gift card, so make sure to pledge big and pledge often on May 2!
