The Shins, took to the Sasquatch stage as the sun was beginning to set on Saturday’s edition of Sasquatch! 2012.
James Mercer, backed by a relatively new version of the band, performed a set chock-full of their hits. Fans were not disappointed in the spot on versions of “New Slang”, “Phantom Limb” and “Simple Song”.
The power of the Shins is to create a live atmosphere that is nearly as captivating as their albums. While at times the band tends to sound a little too keyed into their recorded selves, they tend to hold their audience close by giving them familiar hooks and tonal-resonance.
As the day began to close, the crowd was ushered into a warm-breezy evening, caressed by the equally warm and breezy Shins set.
