The Seattle music scene is ever-changing, with the myriad of new bands being born and new venues opening up there is bound to be a shift in staffing. It was recently announced that the current booking agent at The Sunset Tavern, Michael Jaworski, will be leaving his position to move on to “new opportunities and look forward to the next chapter in my career.” Jaworski has been booking shows for The Sunset Tavern for almost six years and has brought in such talent as: Oberhofer, The Torn ACLs, Codeine and Kurt Vile. His love and appreciation for the venue runs deep and he says there are no hard feelings, “I have an immense amount of gratitude for my time at The Sunset and I’m excited to take the rich experience it’s given me on to my next adventure in life.”
The Sunset Tavern has a loyal following that bridges gaps between rock fans and country fans. The famed venue is well-known for their sweaty shows as well as their monthly installments of Kung Fu Grindhouse where they showcase classic B movies. Greg Garcia will be stepping in as Interim Booking Agent at The Sunset Tavern until a replacement has been found. Garcia also books shows for Tractor Tavern in Ballard. Jaworski mentioned he will continue to play in his two local bands, Virgin Islands and The Cops.
