Hot! Rare R.E.M. Cassette Demo Tape Available Online

Are you still crying over R.E.M.’s breakup? As a mini consolation prize, the band’s rare “Cassette Set” demo tape of 1981 has gone digital and is available for online streaming and download, reports SPIN Magazine. The tape was recorded by R.E.M. on April 15,1981 and consists of six tracks including Mitch Easter’s original mixes of “Radio Free Europe,” “Sitting Still,” and “White Tornado,” to name a few. Only 400 copies were sent out to the press that time of its recording, just to give you an idea of how rare it is. To stream “Radio Free Europe,” head over to Slicing Up Eyeballs.
