This Friday night at Nectar, Little Dragon will be gracing us with their sweet and sultry brand of electro pop. You may not have heard of them just yet, as they hail all the way from Sweden, but they are making some pretty hip sounds and definitely making their homeland proud. Their music is not your standard club beat, trampled to death with repetitive hooks and vocal loops that are all too common within the electronica DJ scene. Since they are a full on group, they have the ability to play like one, and they take full advantage of their varied abilities. They create journeys with their misic that are supplemented with light, airy vocals that tell just enough of the songs story for you to make it your own.
They are currently on a full U.S. tour, playing some really cool festivals like Coachella. As with most bands who tour the States from abroad, their talent by far outstretches the venues they play, and Friday’s show will be no exception. Seeing a band of this caliber in a venue like Nectar is a rare treat. If you are into electronica or just love to dance, there is no reason to be anywhere else. Nectar is going to pop off!
