We have an interesting treat coming our way from NYC. Gabriel Kahane will be making the fourth stop on his DIY tour at The Jewlbox Theater with Rob Moose. You might not know Rob Moose by name, but you’ve probably heard of Antony and the Johnsons and Sufjan Stevens, and Rob Moose has toured with them. Why is Moose slumming it on this DIY tour? Because Gabriel Kahane is awesome and quite possible the next big thing.

Gabriel Kahane is an all around musician who fills his songs with stories infused with his personality. Some might think his vocals are similar to Michael Bublé, but Gabriel Kahane is way cooler that that abhorrent character. If you can imagine those crisp, clean Bublé vocals combined with some Antony style put to some fancy piano fingering accented by a guitar, you’ll start to get the picture of what Kahane brings to the table. On top of being wildly talented, he is also very funny. Gabriel Kahane put together a little song in dedication to the Craigslist.org personals that are known to be eccentric at best. He put his oh-so-clever satire to the tone of theatrical piano making a one person Broadway production. Seeing this performed live will be worth the trip on it’s own right. Look forward to making April 21st a memorable night at The Jewel Box Theater.
