There is a reason the name of the band is Five Alarm Funk–these guys are as hot as a five alarm fire! For those of you who made it up to Summer Meltdown this past August you (and me) already know these guys and have likely been waiting anxiously for their return to the US.  Hailing from Vancouver, BC, this mini-sized (if 12 members is considered mini!) orchestra not only packs the stage, they pack the venues.  Afro-funk rhythms, blaring horns, and epic amounts of energy are the orders of the day for Five Alarm Funk. From the moment they take the stage until the final note settles upon the crowd, these guys deliver a thunderous performance that is sure to melt the frost that is rapidly engulfing our fair city. Not since last year’s holiday party hangover have you had a more perfect excuse for being late to work on Monday.

Seattle’s own Scarlet Room will be on hand Sunday to kick off the night. If you are unfamiliar, think Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack meets the burlesque stage. With story-like lyrics and inciting melodies, Scarlet Room has created a unique and distinct sound. Get down to Nectar early to witness Seattle’s dark circus on stage for yourself; you’ll leave feeling giddy and mischievous.
