Well kiddies, the time has come — Ali’Yah for all-a-ya’ll. We have waited long enough for this release party, and the time has come! Get your fannies to The Crocodile tonight if you want to be part of history in the making.
In case you are behind in the times, here is an excerpt of D.Black talking about the making of Ali’Yah from a previous SSG post done in celebration of D.Blacks 2009 Bumbershoot appearance.
D.Black created Ali’Yah to mirror the evolution of who he has become. He commented, “As I took on more responsibilities in life, I progressed as a man. Ali’Yah is a manifestation of what has been taking place on my insides. When I was writing this album, I knew it was time for me to stop being mystical about cause and effect, and start speaking directly to the community about the things that we are broadcasting to our children.”
Tonight is the night for us to celebrate D.Black’s dream coming to fruition! But D.Black’s dream isn’t just a dream for himself — Ali’Yah for all-a-ya’ll! See you tonight!
