Pickathon Spotlight: VHOL

Metal supergroup VHOL were always going to be outliers at Pickathon, and when their first set at the Treeline Stage finally arrived, part of the excitement was watching how the crowd would take it in. Neither party disappointed, as THE BAND ripped through a lean and punishing set, never letting the crowd breathe for an instant. The crowd responded in kind with one of the better pits I’ve seen at a ¬†Pickathon set that wasn’t put on by Ty Segall or Thee Oh Sees. At least one other outlet has named the band the best act of the festival, and for good reason. Hopefully this is the foot in the door for more heavy music at Pickathon. Enjoy the photos below.
