The Bowerbirds played an hour for their first concert of the weekend. The woods stage was packed with a multitude of different personalities in engaging and spontaneous outfits. Nobody was standing, but this was out of respect so everyone in the audience could see – even the small children who ran around joyously by the front of the stage. The slow melodic folk of the thunderbirds soothed the crowd as they listened under the shade. The sunset mixed majestically with “Tuck The Darkness In,” a sensual song with a steady tempo. The Bowerbirds onstage demeanor was very casual. During the set their main singer/songwriter Phillip Moore kept a pleasant conversation, and kept referring to how similar the woods stage felt to his backyard in Raleigh, North Carolina. The band kept churning out tunes from their four recorded records,  and finished the show with the introspective “Hooves” that is carried by disconsolate guitar chord arrangement.
