As their namesake suggests, Typhoon can be a force of nature. Bringing 11 musicians to the stage at Pickathon, they also brought a lot of fans who were familiar with their material. They unleashed some newer stuff, which seemed to focus a lot on powerful staccato moments as stabs of emotion in a sea of calm. The horns and strings sounded excellent as always, and vocalist Kyle Morton belted out his heartfelt vocals with the usual gusto. One can only wonder why the band with probably the most members in the festival was confined to the smaller of the two main stages, especially given their local popularity. During their set they also mentioned their special relationship with Pendarvis Farm, as they recently recorded an album while living on the grounds.
