Pickathon 2012: Dr. DogPosted by Aaron Sharpsteen
Dr. Dog closed out Saturday night’s festivities on the main stages of Pickathon with a performance that moved between rousing and relaxing with ease, giving crowd members a break after a long day of sweltering heat and energetic bands. Temperatures during the day reached almost 100 degrees, but Dr. Dog made sure that no one in the crowd felt out of place by sitting or laying down after a long day in the heat. Toby Leaman and Scott McMicken split the vocal duties, the other musicians occasionally chiming in throughout the evening. A lot of their material came from their latest album, Be the Void. The audience even brought them back on for an encore, and the emcee tried to get them a second encore before being talked out of it by the stage crew.
