Day two of Hesh Fest consisted of DJ Dairy (Tres Shannon of Voodoo Doughnuts) and five bands – DRC3, The Last Dancers, P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S, Fireballs of Freedom and the legendary DEAD MOON.
To start the night off right, Jonathan Galyon booked one of my favorite local legends, John “Elvis” Shroder. He is a man who dresses in his best Elvis attire and serenades the crowd with his Elvis covers. I have been watching him play in downtown Portland since I was very little and it was really awesome to see him take the stage at Dante’s. The rest of the night went off without a hitch. Every band killed it!!
This day was extra special because it happened to be Fred Cole’s birthday. He was given a cake on stage and the crowd got to sing happy birthday to him before Dead Moon started their set. This night felt more like a family reunion than your average show and I feel lucky have been apart of it.
