Due to disruptive influence onto other patients, Pete Doherty has been asked to leave a Thai rehabilitation center.
Three weeks ago, Doherty canceled several festival gigs to fly to The Cabin, a remote clinic in Chiang Mai, Thailand, to improve his crack cocaine and heroin addiction. Unfortunately, Doherty’s disruptive behavior led to a nonnegotiable expulsion halfway through the program.
The Cabin has a program completion rate of 96%. Program director, Alastair Mordey, responded to Doherty’s early departure with, “Pete was discharged today for therapeutic reasons. It is important to maintain the integrity of the treatment program for the other clients to have a good chance of recovery.”
Since 2004, Doherty has been in and out of rehab as he continues to struggle with drug addiction. He has recently confirmed that he is still using crack cocaine and heroin.
