Paleo Announces New Album and Upcoming TourPosted by Kellielizabeth Caceres-Leighton
Indie folk artist Paleo (David Strackany), famous for his “song diary” in which he wrote a song a day in 2006-2007, is set to release a new album this coming June. After years of making music on the road alone Strackany pairs up with Daytrotter’s Patrick Stolley to produce Fruit of the Spirit set to release June 21, 2011.
There is definitely strength in the collaboration of this dynamic duo, combining the independence and haunting creativity of Strackany with the talent and goldmine of instruments Stolley has to offer, this year’s album is believed to be a must have for any Indie folk enthusiast. According to Flavorpill NYC “[Paleo recalls] both the magical weirdness of Neutral Milk Hotel and the disturbed genius of Elliott Smith.” A combination of musical geniuses that we find impossible to resist.
Now available for pre-order on Partisan Records, Every fan who orders before May 27th will get an instant download of the album, as well as an instant download of last year’s “A view from the sky”
A long with their limited double feature promotion Partisan Records has also just released the official video for “Holly Would” on Vimeo; providing a colorful presentation of mixed media that flows perfectly with Paleo’s strong visual lyrics.
And if that wasn’t enough, Paleo kicked off his Spring tour at SXSW in March and is heading to the northwest for two shows, one in Portland and a second in Seattle late July. More information available soon.
