oOoOO, Magic Fades, Rxch Welch, Nightmare Fortress, and Ozma Otacava at Chop Suey 8/3!Posted by Julie Cochran
Supporting his recently released Love is Hurting Us EP (Tri Angle Records), San Francisco electronic act oOoOO (Christopher Dexter Greenspan) will play a show 8/3 at Chop Suey with a host of Northwest-based acts. Greenspan came onto the scene with the release of his October 2010 self-titled EP. The droning vocals, tempo skipping, and electronic machinated feel of oOoOO’s early material earned the artist ranking amongst the then-newly established witch house/drag movement. Greenspan’s sound is characterized by chopped up beats overlaid with hip hop samples all washed over with a dreamy wall of sound. The resultant material earned oOoOO international festival slots and devoted fans within the chillwave and electronica communities. This is the ideal accompaniment for heroin-addled models floating down the runway.
Opening for oOoOO is Portland synthpop duo Magic Fades, prefaced by Seattle acts Rxch Welch, Nightmare Fortress, and Ozma Otacava.
