The enigma that is Norah Jones continues to melt even the coldest hearts. If her punk leanings (in the outfit El Madmo) or country twangs (as a contributing member of The Little Willies) haven’t won you or your significant other over, then perhaps her upcoming fifth album, Little Broken Hearts, will do the trick.

Why, you say? Because Norah (Ms. Jones if you’re nasty) has recruited producer-to-the-almost-stars, Danger Mouse, to man the boards for Little Broken Hearts. The two have collaborated recently on Danger Mouse’s ROME project, so carrying over the creativity to Jones’ upcoming set of songs only seems logical.

Danger Mouse is also credited as co-writer, lending Little Broken Hearts the air of cohesion. A concrete arrival date has not been given for the Blue Note release, only the promise of a Spring release. Until then, we’ll stir an unrequited rivalry between She & Him and Jones/Danger Mouse for America’s newest oddly paired sweethearts. Perhaps a prelude to a renewed interest in “Celebrity Death Match” is in the cards.
