Now that Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi is done with his solo tour and wrapped up work on the soundtrack for Cameron Crow’s We Bought a Zoo, the beloved Icelandic foursome has holed up in the studio to finish work on a new album scheduled for a spring 2012 release. Described by band members as “introverted,” “floaty and minimal,” and “ambient,” you can expect to hear more of the group’s signature sound.

Sigur Rós most recently released a live record and documentary film titled Inni, which has screened around the world and follows the band during its last two performances of a 2008 tour in support of the album Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust.
