New Music: Shlohmo “7am”

Posted by on January 13th, 2010 at 11:36 AM

If you’re into the ambient/electronic movement that is in such full-force right now, you’re going to enjoy this new music. Shlohmo sets out to defy the laws of lo-fi electronics. Getting technical, the term “lo-fi” has been commonly accepted to be “a term used to describe music in which the sound is of a lower quality than the usual standard” according to Wikipedia. Shlohmo’s process of making Shlomoshun Deluxe, released January 12, 2010, had no aid from any of those fancy high tech gadgets, but the dynamics of this album is anything but sub-par.

Shlohmo takes natural sounds and processes them into down-tempo electronic goodness. In the featured song “7am,” Shlohmo takes the listener for swanky stroll. The nonchalant, bass-heavy synth tones exude the cool air of youthful charisma. Futuristic sounds layer on top of each other just enough to create intrigue, then pull out one by one leaving the listener wanting more.

The more you listen to Shlohmo, the more you love him. Download “7am” below, and pick up Shlomoshun Delux today!
