Here’s a short list of things that look good on paper: Cold fusion, a reunited At the Drive-In, a Chinese Democracy, and Mister Heavenly. Mister Heavenly is a project that comprises Nick Thorburn, Honus Honus, and Joe Plummer(Michael Cera has made appearances on bass guitar in the past.) Stylistically, the group pulls from doo-wop and girl groups, a tangent that should receive a warm welcome from fans of the member’s respective full-time projects(The Unicorns/Islands, Man Man, and Modest Mouse.) If you missed them open for Passion Pit last year, you have two more chances to see them coming up it’s your own fault. For the rest of us eagerly awaiting their album release on Sub Pop, you can trade your email address and download two of their songs, “Mister Heavenly” and “Pineapple Girl,” for free. The as-of-yet unnamed collaboration should be released later this year.

It’s cool like a George Michael Bluth music burning party.
