Lymbyc Systym, Montag, + Flicker State @ Casa del Popolo | Sat. February 25 | 9pm
Brooklyn-based brotherly duo Lymbyc Systym will once again be gracing Montreal’s Casa del Popolo this Saturday. Yes, it may be Nuit Blanche but their soothing, cinematic music should be a great way to start a long night. Montreal’s Montag and Flicker State will be opening. A decade into his career, Montag (Antoine Bédard) is perhaps best known for his collaboration with M83 on their Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts and for providing string arrangements for their recent LP. I thoroughly enjoyed a soundwalk curated by Montag that was part of this past year’s Mutek festival, and expect his DJ set to be thoughtfully curated. Montreal’s rising-starts Sweet Mother Logic have also been added to the bill, sure to be a night of some of Montreal’s finest instrumental music. Not to be missed.
