Listen: Xiu Xiu — “Quagga”

Xiu Xiu’s experimental single “Quagga” is now streaming. The record label Kingfisher Bluez released the song as part of their single series.
The track is a fairly undefinable whir of noise-making, sculpting the contours of the composition with odd sounds and effects rather than melody and rhythm. The bits of melody and rhythm present are fragmented, off-kilter and elusive.
“Quagga” comes not long after the debut of their latest full-length album Always, which dropped back in February.
