Listen: Dinosaur Jr. — “Watch the Corners”

Dinosaur Jr. have just unleashed “Watch the Corners”, the first single off their forthcoming album, I Bet on the Sky.
The album is the third since the original line-up reformed just over five years ago.
The song “Watch the Corners”, features Dinosaur Jr. staples, chugging riffs, deadpan vocals and a shredding solo. Buried in the song is an acoustic break, somewhat atypical for the band, but not unfamiliar to Mascis’ solo work. ”I always liked that since I was a kid, from like, Black Sabbath,” Mascis says. “Suddenly they go into acoustic, back into electric – I guess I’ve always been into that.”
I Bet on the Sky, recorded largely in Mascis’ Amherst, Mass. home, is due out Sept. 18 via Jagjaguwar.
