Bay Area rapper Lil B is purely a product of the 21st century. The self-proclaimed BasedGod and “world’s greatest unsigned rapper” is as accessible and prolific as they come. He’s written a book, released over a thousand songs, and given speeches to sold out crowds at NYU. And he’s only 22!

Sure, with a catalogue as large as Lil B’s there’s a large chaff-to-wheat ratio. But the wheat is good, I swear! Look no further than albums 6 Kiss and I’m Gay (I’m Happy), both stellar from beginning to end and featuring production from some of the best minds on the internet (including Seattle’s Keyboard Kid, who opens the show and is a cousin of Lil B’s).

The mind may be so complex when you’re based, but going to his show might give you some insight on what the hubbub is all about. And for those who think appreciation for Lil B’s hustle is an egregious practice of Hipster Irony, can you please, for the love of all involved, stay home? Thanks in advance.
